It's only been a month...Kam's Birthday

So, it's been a month TODAY since Kamden's 2nd birthday but I realized I hadn't posted any pics from it. He was definitely spoiled this year. He had 3 little parties. One with the Johnson's. His cousin Chloe has the same bday. Then a little party with his friends. I wasn't going to do one but because we were moving I thought it would be fun for him to play with them all one last time. (Really it was so I could see their mommies one last time.) Then we went to my parents over conference weekend and he got another party. His favorite part is the cake. Every time he looks back at pics, he says "CAKE!" about 20 times. I think he's got a sweet tooth.
I couldn't get the thing to light. Jeff thought it was pretty funny. Chloe turned 5. She's nice enough to share her b-day with Kam.
Notice Kamden's blurry hand? He was excited.
I thought this picture was hilarious. The twins are about 6 months younger than Kam and they needed some ice cream too!Kam has a little obsession with dinos. So I decided a volcano cake with dinos would be fun.
He loved it.

DINO!

Kam and his cousins loved the corral.

Yes, it's very common for dinosaurs to be in a horse corral.

Why? Do they look out of place?

The Eagle Has Landed!

We have arrived in North Carolina!
There are so many things to update, Kam's birthday, our drive across the country, our new home, and how beautiful it is here. But we'll do one thing at a time. So many people have told us that we've arrived at the PERFECT time because the weather is so nice and all of the dogwoods are in bloom. We are so happy to be here. Most people know that Shena (a girl from Grace that I grew up with) lives here. We're in the same ward, she helped us find our apartment-which we love- and she's taken us under her wing and helped us adapt to our new surroundings.

Hanging with our Provo ward friends before we left.

Kamden with his GREAT-grandma. He loves her so much. When we stayed with my parents a few weeks ago, he went and 'covered' her with a blanket.

Jeff planned a surprise date for our last night in Provo. He uh, left his outlook calender up on the computer and I saw take Lyndzi to Chef's Table & a movie. Oops Jeffy. What a wonderful husband I have. He planned a surprise date, got a baby-sitter and took me to the Chef's table. It was oh so delicious. We lived about 30 seconds from the nicest restaurant in Utah county and had never gone there. It was certainly a special occasion.

Now for the nitty-gritty. Yes, that is my son. He LOVED the moving truck. Don't go thinking I'm a bad mom. This was at the end of the day and after hours of keeping Kamden away from this, I finally gave in. I was exhausted.

Thanks Andy for showing Kamden how to wipe his 'clean' fingers across his face.

We could not have done it without the Alexander's. They have moved lots (also across the country) and know what it takes to move. We didn't even have to ask for their help. Andy took the day off work and they all came for the day. Jeff and Andy had the bed taken apart (no small feat), couches loaded, the piano, and about 1/2 of our boxes loaded before lunch. When people came that night to help, there wasn't a whole lot left for them to do but we were grateful they came by.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! to everyone that helped pack, clean, and came to say goodbye.

All the girls got to go to Build-A-Bear and helped so much with Kamden.

Rachel, Nate, & Taylor came that night and helped clean the apartment the next day. That was so helpful.

What would we do without our family?

The night before we left, the Johnson's got together to say goodbye.

Kamden has 3 little cousins his age on the Johnson side. I'm so sad to take him away from them but I'm sure they will always be good friends.

Kam & AbbyThe Hunt with the Johnson's

We're really going to miss Sunday dinners with everyone. :(The Departure

So we thought it would be fun to get a pic next to all the state signs. It worked out pretty good except when we were on a bridge or a busy freeway so some of the pics I took while driving by.Kam thought he was so cool sitting up high with us and up front.Yeah, you see the rain? It rained EVERY single day of the 4 day drive.

Missouri State Line

Illionis State Line
We drove right though my mission. It was so fun to reminisce. I served in such a beautiful place.

We wanted to get out, jump for joy, and kiss the ground but you can see the freeway was a little busy.

Jeff, Kam, and Grandpa J. We were so glad he came with us. It was so nice to rotate drivers and have help with Kamden.

Jeff leaving on Thursday morning for his 1st day of work. He has already made some sells and has 2 surgeries on Thursday. I'm so proud of him.

Kamden is such an active little guy. Grandpa kept saying, "You gotta keep your eye on that one. He is so curious." Kam was constantly into his pills and bag. They had such a fun time together. We are so lucky to have John and were so grateful for his help this week. It was sad to see him go.

Our new houseKam loves the warm weather and being out of the car.Yes, that's right. We have traumatized our 2 year old. Now he officially HATES getting into the car seat. Can you blame him? After 4 days of being restrained, I'd hate it too. He did so good on the drive out though.

We love and miss you all! Thanks again for all of the help with our big move to North Carolina!

Kamden is 2! Read the previous post to go with the slideshow.

My little boy is 2!

Kamden is 2 years old today. I can't believe how fast the time has gone and now we have another little one coming in 3 months.
I am the luckiest little mommy in the world. Kamden has really changed our lives. Jeff and I knew from watching our older siblings that it would be a change but we never anticipated the joys that would come from having Kamden in our lives.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't laugh, want to pull my hair out, burst with motherly pride, want to tie Kamden down, or pick him up and squeeze him cause I just love him so much. (Noitice I said WANT to tie Kamden down, I don't really do it.)
Kamden has so much of Jeff and me in him. He is pretty much an exact replica of Jeff about 28 years ago (seriously copy and past) and he's as yellow as his mother.
I thought it would be fun to celebrate Kamden's birthday by sharing with everyone the things my 2 years old loves.
Kamden you...
Love or are obsessed with:
-Saurs...Dinosaurs that is. GG bought you some dinosaurs and you just can't get enough of them. You carry them around in a baggie taking them in and out and putting them back in again.
-Books- When I lay you down for your nap I tell you no toys but one book and you will stay in your bed reading a book until you fall asleep.
-Your "B"-Need I say more?
-Doing whatever mom and dad are
-Running-You are ridiculously fast. I don't know how I'm going to keep up with you when your new baby brother comes.
Funny things you say and their translation:
Bug-Book
Dinos-Dinosaurs
Saurs-Dinosaurs
Doors-Dinosaurs
Baggie-This really does mean baggie but it's so funny to hear you say it
Milky-Milk
Poppy-Pop
Cracker-Cookie
Dwink-Drink
Nak-Snack, usually a fruit snack
Duce-Juice
Nigh Nigh-Night Night
Peez-Please
Skeez-Squeeze (you say this when you give hugs)
Beebee-Baby (pointing to my belly)
Funny things you do:
Drink from the water squirter
Stand on the toilet while I'm getting ready for the day
Chew on your dinos tails
Run around the corner so I can jump out and scare you
Show everyone when you have an owee
Summer-salts
Give knuckels
Show me EVERYTHING
Sweet things you do:
Give the best kisses
Give tight hugs
Give random hugs (those are the best)
Sit on my lap and play with the calculator while I'm wasting time on Facebook and my blog.
Put ALL of the clothes in the washer when I'm doing laundry (Even the ones that don't go in that load. You getting better at keeping the white separate.)
Lay your head on my shoulder

Kam, there are so many other things that you do that I love. You are such a sweet boy and I love you so much. Thank you for coming to me.

My Adventrous Week In Idaho

My dad is in California for 3 weeks with the Reserves and Jeff went to Oregon for the week So, we all know what that means...Mommy/Daughty time. We had so much fun. My grandma recently moved in with my parents for a while to recover from surgery and it was nice to be able to spend lots of time with her too.
My mom got Kamden a stick horse and was demonstrating how to ride it.

Kam about got bucked off a few times but he loves it.

At the surprise party, Kamden was walking down the stairs with a puzzle and fell. It was the first time he's really bled when he got hurt. I was freaking out a little cause his mouth was bloody. His tooth went through his lip and I was checking his teeth to make sure they didn't wiggle. He only cried for about 30 seconds.

He is one tough cookie.

Kamden and Paisley had so much fun together. Kamden plays pretty rough compared to her and she'd squint and shy away when he got too close but for the most part they had so much fun. Lots of hugs and kisses to each other.

She loved her new pink flip flops and Kam thought they were pretty great too.

I wanted to make a blanket for the new baby. It was my first quilt and it was SO fun! We were experimenting so we had to keep backtracking but we had a great time.

Yes, I posed for this picture. I really was sewing though. :)

Kam loved it. He wanted to wrap up in it and he kept calling it "B". It's the babies "B".

I had enough left over to make a pillow too.

Finished product!

My second night there, I had just gotten out of the shower and was talking to Jeff on the phone. I heard way loud screeching and **BANG**BANG**POW**. You get the point, lots of noise. I looked out the window and saw bouncing red lights. Someone had just wrecked in my parents horse corral. My mom had just gotten in the shower and I yelled for her to hurry and come out. I called my brother and he was in bed. Andrea's parents were visiting so she came with her dad who used to be an EMT. (He's also about 6'6" so that makes ya feel a little safer.)

I didn't dare get any pics of the front of the truck cause I didn't want to make the guy mad. Sorry Brooks.

Before Andrea and her dad got there, my mom and I walked out to see if they were hurt. Their radio was blaring so we thought they must be hurt too bad to turn it off. A man leaned out of the drivers side window and he was fine. He was so drunk he couldn't turn it off. He kept trying to start his truck and drive off. He was going from Lava to Preston. (About an hour drive.) His truck is totalled by the way. He was repeating himself and saying "Okay mom, you can go now." We called 911 and the police came.

The guy was calling Andrea's dad "Boss" and when the cops came the drunk guy said that Dave, Andrea's dad was standing in the middle of the road so he had to swerve to miss him. He must have forgotten that Dave was down at Brooks and Andrea's when he wrecked.

Once they got him out of the truck he was getting really belligerent. He punched on of the cops and they had to tackle him to the ground and put him in handcuffs. This is not something you see in Grace, Idaho.

Now for the really sad part. They had just moved the horses to a different corral so that was good. But, it has taken my dad years to get this corral just how he wanted it. On Father's Day 4 years ago, all the kids/grandkids came up and painted panels for the fence around the corral. The panels were all custom made and it right in the front part of my parents house. (I'm standing in the driveway for this pic.)

What a mess. Don't drink and drive!

Besties Fa Life

I have the BEST FRIENDS EVER!!!
Jeff went to Oregon this week for training so I went to my parents in Idaho. Lena lives in Logan so she was going to give me some layers on Monday on my way through.
I walked in her house and there were all of my best friends from high school.
They gave me a surprise going-away/baby shower.
We all live in different places from Logan to Provo and we get together as often as we can. It's hard to coordinate all of our schedules though oh yeah, and the load of kids. Now I've gone and messed it up cause I'm moving to North Carolina.

I was SO surprised. They are all so thoughtful and I am so lucky to have them as friends. Thanks LYLAS.
April w/ Zack & Carlie

Kamden, Lena, Aubree, Clara, & Millie

New baby stuff (thanks again)

We're a little outnumbered. We have 10 kids between all of us. :)
We had so many people tell us that we wouldn't be friends after high school. We'd all move away and probably never talk again. Well, that's not the case. These girls are amazing and we will be close forever even if we live across the country.
Thanks
I'm gonna miss you ladies.

The Bachelor

So, I think I'm the only female on the earth that isn't hating Jason at the moment.
I love watching The Bachelor. It's totally a waste of time and can be pretty superficial. But...there's something about love that pulls me in.
I have wanted him to pick Molly forever and was ticked when they showed her pulling up in the limo first. He chose Melissa.
THEN...
they had a little Bachelor, after the rose ceremony and he ends it with Melissa cause he can't quit thinking about Molly. YEAH! Melissa really bugged me. Jason loves Molly and Molly loves Jason.
So many people think he's a jerk and that he shouldn't have done it on TV. It had been less than 6 weeks since the end of the show and he's been trying to figure out what to do in that SHORT time.
They are expected to make a decision on the love of their life in just a few hours. He kept saying that he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do.
2nd thoughts are bound to happen.
Everyone that's ticked needs to take chill pill and remember it's still reality TV.
If they're happy, I'm happy.
