Matchy Matchy

Kamden and Paisley have matching Halloween pj's. They looked so cute in them, we wanted to get a picture.
Here are a few of our attempts.
Now, I don't want to say that Paisley was all over the place... but just look at Kam in the last few pics. Did he move?
He had his "B", life was good.

I call this one "Success!"

Family Pictures

I've been taking a photography class the last little while and so last weekend we went up to Vivian Park and took some fun pics. By the end, Kam was so done. His hands were so black and dirty from the train and train tracks but I got some good pics so it was all worth it.

I'll see if I can get a slide show up of some of the pics.

Reunited and it feels so good...

Well, we never did find the original "B". I think I drove away with it on top of the trunk! (That's a whole other blog entry.) A few weeks ago my mom found more of the same material and bought it. What luck?! So, she was in the process of making a mini "B" square for Kam to take with him outside and for play. We got the mini one just a few days after the tragedy of losing the original.

I didn't check the mail on Saturday and Jeff brought in the package Sunday morning before church. I pulled out the corner of the "B" and Kamden started saying, "B,B,B!" He was so happy, he was beside himself. It was like he was being reunited with a long lost friend. It had only been 2 DEVISTATINGLY LONG days. He just kept smothering it against his face.

Being the good G.G. that she is, my mom immediately began work on a big replacement. (So lucky that she had found the same material just a few weeks before.)

Now, Kamden has 2 "B"s. One for bed and one for everything else. However, now he thinks he needs 2, one for each shoulder.

I don't think any long term effects will be suffered by him but I have for sure learned my lesson.

ALWAYS HAVE A BACK-UP!

What would you do?

I took Kamden to the library this morning for Book Babies and thought that I would take his blanket just this once because he loves it so much and it helps him sit still. We had a few places to go and I thought it harmless to bring his little "B" along. Now, to help you understand just how much he loves this blanket, first, his G.G. made it for him. Second, he carries it around on his shoulder. Third, he tucks it under him when he sleeps. And fourth, he calls it his "B".We couldn't get him to sit still for the picture because someone was holding his "B". That's what he's looking at. He has so happy to have it that he was throwing it up and down.
So, you get that he loves it. Well, we went to Kohl's, then Target, then to lunch. When I was putting him in his car seat after lunch, I realized that I didn't have his blanket. I just about FREAKED! I traced back in my mind where I had been this morning. I KNOW that I had it in Kohl's but I was closer to Target so I went there first. I checked the desk at Target, no "B". I ran to Macey's to get something from my bro-in-law, then went back to Target and retraced all of my steps. Then, I went to Kohl's and asked at the desk, no "B". So, I went to where we ate lunch, even though I know I didn't take it in the resturant. Then I went back to Kohl's because maybe, just maybe it was behind a cashiers counter and hadn't been taken back to the Lost & Found yet. Still, no "B". I opened the trunk 3 times and the stroller twice, and have been to Kohl's & Target 3 times, AHHHH! I can't find it. I seriously think I might cry. Right now, he's in his crib trying to go to sleep and saying "B, B, B, B".
Now mommies, if you were walking in a store or a parking lot and saw a little blanket, what would you do? Pick it up? Leave it there? Throw it away? Set it on top of a rack of clothes? Turn it into the lost & found? or what? I don't know what to do. Help me.

The Lion's Den...No, seriously

We'd been looking forward to going to the BYU vs. USU game for a really long time. My sister Rachel and her husband Jon had some extra tickets right next to them. The only problem, they were tickets held by other Aggie season ticket holders . Don't get me wrong, they were awesome seats - 50 yard line, 3rd row. We knew going into it that we were taking our lives into our own hands. (Literally) Before the game, Jon warned us that heckling would be a bad idea. We did however think it was okay to wear our BYU attire. (I took a neutral-navy hoodie just incase:).)You should have heard those Aggie fans. Talk about ridiculous. They heckled those poor BYU boys the entire game. Even though BYU killed the Aggies by 20 points, the Aggie fans proudly chanted "OVER-RATED"because BYU was currently ranked #7 and USU was #117. BYU didn't play their best, no doubt about that but I think my favorite heckle of the night was when the fans around us started saying, "The Lord has forsaken you."

We were happy to be there...
but sad we couldn't cheer for BYU.

He's a great guy and a good example for his team. He never looks at the crowd and I don't think it's cause he's scared.

Strawberry Jammin!

Yes! I did it. I made strawberry jam by myself for the first time ever! Jeff loves strawberry jam. Don't we all?

Whenever I eat strawberry freezer jam, I always have memories of my dad making Saturday morning breakfast. Biscuts, sausage and gravy. Then strawberry jam on the leftover biscuts. However, I didn't know that the reason I loved it so much is because it has twice as much sugar as it does fruit. So, I decided I would only put in 10 cups of sugar instead of the 12 it called for. It's a little tart but yummy.
